ChatGPT's New Intelligent UI And What It Means For Owners

8 October 2026

OpenAI has rolled out GPT-6 globally in ChatGPT, bringing with it a new feature called Intelligent UI. Instead of replying only in text, ChatGPT can now return charts, tables, images and clickable buttons inside the same chat window. The update is live now for free, Plus and Business users at no extra cost, according to OpenAI.

What it means for your hours

Most owners already use ChatGPT for quick numbers: a quote, a cash summary, a materials list. Until now, you got the answer back as a block of text, then had to copy it into Excel or a slide to actually see it. That copying and formatting is the bit that eats your evening.

With Intelligent UI, the chart or table appears straight in the chat. Ask for a breakdown of job costs by week and you get a bar chart, not three paragraphs of numbers you have to re-read twice. For an owner doing this once a day, that is roughly ten minutes saved each time, which adds up to around 40 hours a year, without changing a single process.

Worked example: a groundworks firm asks ChatGPT to summarise last month's invoices by client. Previously that came back as a wall of text the owner then rebuilt as a chart for the Friday finance call. Now the chart appears directly in the chat, ready to screenshot and send. Same subscription, same question, less fiddling.

What to do this month

This is not a reason to rebuild your reporting from scratch. It is a reason to stop manually turning ChatGPT's text answers into charts yourself.
