Ask your documents. Check the answer.
Docutel is a document intelligence platform for UK businesses in construction, road haulage and facilities management. Load the documents you already have, ask a question in plain English, and get an answer cited to the exact document and section it came from, so you can check it before you act on it.
The answer is in a contract. In a folder. Somewhere.
You know your business better than anyone. The knowledge just lives in contracts, compliance records and spreadsheets spread across a shared drive, SharePoint, and someone's inbox. Finding one clause can cost an afternoon.
Generic AI does not fix that. It answers confidently whether it knows or not, which is worse than no answer when the number goes in a tender. Docutel is built the other way round.
Three steps
Load your documents
As they are. No new filing discipline, no reorganising folders first.
Ask in plain English
The way you would ask a colleague who had read everything.
Check the source
Every answer carries a citation. Click it, read the clause, then act.
What it does
Every answer is sourced
The citation points at the actual document the answer came from. Not a summary of something the AI half remembers.
Numbers are exact, not estimated
Counts, totals and lists come from a direct query on the records, not from AI reading documents and doing arithmetic.
It follows how you are organised
Permissions mirror your actual departments and project areas. Moving a folder never silently changes who can see what.
It grows with what you need
Start with documents. Add tender management, compliance tracking and reporting on the same foundation, without another vendor to manage.
What it does not do
Worth knowing before you look at it, because the gaps are the reason to trust the rest.
- Scanned documents cannot be read yet. Those are flagged, not guessed at.
- Some spreadsheet questions the extract cannot answer properly are declined with a reason rather than approximated.
- When the answer is not in your documents, it says so. That is the point.
Who it is built for
UK construction, road haulage and facilities businesses, roughly 25 to 200 people, owner managed or close to it. Documents spread across SharePoint, Google Drive or a shared server, and no dedicated IT function to make any of it behave. Usually growing or restructuring, with processes that worked at thirty people straining at eighty.
If you already pay for a CRM nobody updates, a document repository that turned into a filing cabinet, a forms tool for RAMS, and four spreadsheets doing the job those tools were bought for, that is the patchwork Docutel is meant to replace.
Where your data sits
That wording is deliberately precise. Blanket claims about residency do not survive contact with a compliance-heavy buyer, and you would be right to check.
See it on your own documents
Thirty minutes, your files, your questions. Your business, knowable.
